2021 Jayco Jay Flight 32BHDS from a Nebraska lender yard to Fargo, bunkhouse for three kids

three kids, 12, 9 and 6, so it had to be a bunkhouse, and it had to be under 25 because that was the number my wife and i agreed on in january. new 32BHDS at the dealer in West Fargo was 38 and change. so, repos.

we bid twice through Lake Park Auto Connection. the first was a 2020 Jay Flight 28BHS at a yard in Kansas in may. we put in 21,200 and got the email that we were not the high bidder. no number, you never learn what won it. that stung for a week. the second was this one, a 2021 32BHDS at a lender facility near Lincoln, Nebraska, listed in june. one owner, repossessed in march, 70 photos, a video of every slide and the outdoor kitchen. we bid 23,600 and won.

no buyer's premium, the invoice was 23,600.00. Lincoln to Fargo is about 440 miles, inside the free delivery circle, so no delivery line either. wired it on a monday, the trailer showed up on a saturday 13 days later on a hotshot out of Sioux Falls. the lake park listing said about 14 days, so on the money.

the catch. the tires. Westlake ST225/75R15 with date codes from week 12 of 2020, one with sidewall checking you could see from ten feet. the photo of the date codes was in the listing, i just did not know how to read one at the time. four Goodyear Endurance load range E from Discount Tire in Fargo, 780 mounted, before the trailer went anywhere. the rest of it was as listed.

honest answer, not much. one email the day after the wire saying it was scheduled for transport. then nothing until the driver called me on day 11 to say he was picking it up in Lincoln on friday and would be in Fargo saturday morning, and did i want it before or after 10. i called the outfit in lake park once on day 8 because i was getting itchy, and a person picked up and told me the pickup date, which the driver then confirmed. so it is quiet, but somebody answers.

the driver picked the day, we picked the hour. he put it in the side yard, walked around it with me, i checked the VIN and the tires and signed. kids were on the bunks before he had the chains put away.

winter update. five trips before we winterized it, Lindenwood, Buffalo River twice, Lake Metigoshe, and Lake Bemidji over the last warm weekend. tires have been fine at 65. the outdoor kitchen fridge died on trip four like both of you said, 210 for the replacement, i did not bother calling the lake park people about it for 210 dollars, that is a wear item on a 2021 whether anyone likes it or not. one other thing for the honest column: the ND title took five weeks after the Cass County office had everything, longer than the Minnesota folks in the other thread, and nobody could tell me why.

the 6 month warranty from the listing runs out in january and we have not used it. so the whole spend after the bid is 780 in tires and 210 in fridge. we would bid again, and i would read the tire date codes before i bid, not after.
