2020 Ram 1500 Big Horn, 5.7, 3.92 gears, tow package, payload sticker 1,430. trailer is my 2021 Imagine 2670MK, sticker GVWR 9,495, i figure 7,400 loaded. hitch is an Equal-i-zer 1,000/10,000 four point that the dealer set up when i bought the trailer, 6 washers in the head, sway brackets wherever the kid at the dealer put them.
measured fender heights in the driveway, level ground, tape to the top of the wheel arch. unhooked, front 37.5, rear 39.0. hooked with the bars on, front 36.4, rear 36.6. so the front is dropping 1.1 and the rear 2.4 with the bars doing their thing. it tows ok but it wanders a little in the wind on I-35 and the truck feels light in the nose.
three questions. is 1.1 of front drop too much, and if so is it more washers or a different bar hole. how do i find out what the tongue actually weighs without buying a 150 dollar tongue scale. and are 1,000 bars right for this trailer or should i be on 1,200s.
